Ask Scott Weiner and now Chuck Schumer. There's literally nothing you can ever do to make the left wing mobs happy: that Tiger you put a saddle on? It's always a fun ride until it gets hungry.
Robespierre also thought he'd come out on top. As he ascended the steps above the Place de la Concorde one wonders if he appreciated the irony of the moment - so many Terrors unleashed. So many executed on the same spot: King Louis XVI, Danton and Desmoulins all.
Perhaps as his own head rolled along his last thoughts reflected on how he'd come full circle with what he'd unleashed. Or maybe not.
Chuck Schumer:

Scott Weiner:

Shouting “Communist” has always been the desperate cry of Republicans when they fear losing. Sometimes, it even works.
And for added fuel injection, they raise the spectre of “purges”
Funny how this vey thing is happening now to the Republican Party that is being torn apart by the very real purges being carried out by Trump and his henchmen.

Communism? That is your party comrade. You are the one who was regularly supported here by a Russian stooge until he got shipped off to the front in Ukraine. It is your party that regularly plays footsies with Putin.
Mamdani is a socialist.
Maybe educate yourself on the difference between Socialism and Communism.
As for the purges. Let's ask John McCain, Jeff Flake, Adam Kinzinger, Liz Cheney, John Cornyn, Bill Cassidy, Thom Tillis, Mitt Romney, Lisa Murakowski, Bill Massie, James Comey, Micheal Steele and the whole host of people who were once part of the GOP before Trump came along and his cult (that's you) and purged them.
Do better or continue to be laughed at.

OMG, Trump labels Mamdani as a communist and Dope1 parrots what Dear Leader says like a good little sheep.
Mamdani is NOT a communist, he is a socialist. Or as he describes himself, a democratic (small d, not capital, D in case you’re confused) socialist.
Here’s a small list of very popular programs in the United States:
- Interstate highway system
- Air traffic control
- Municipal power grids
- Unemployment insurance
- Social Security
- Medicaid
- Public libraries
- Fire departments
- Police forces
- USPS
Any idea what common thread all these popular programs have in common?
They all rely on socialist principles.
For crying out loud, grow up.

And, these days, the GOP is trying to defund/privatize/kill all of that, so the money can go to the "JCs" instead. All the Repubs running for Gov of Michigan want to repeal the state income tax and the property tax that supports public schools. They promise the lost revenue will be made up by eliminating "waste, fraud, and abuse", without any specifics, just like Reagan kept assuring us his policies would not dramatically increase the Federal debt.

Still no one wants to talk about the dsa takeover of the democrat party? Too bad.Cool. I'll talk about it:
https://www.city-journal.org/article/democratic-so...“Workers Deserve More!” has revolutionary aspirations. It aims to “win the battle for democracy, draft a new constitution, and create a democratic socialist republic.” The document makes clear that achieving this vision would require “building a new society from the ground up,” accompanied by sweeping structural changes.
To accomplish that goal, the DSA calls for sweeping political and economic changes, including full public financing for campaigns and the abolition of the Electoral College, alongside the establishment of public ownership of the largest corporations and essential industries to ensure democratic control and accountability, and strict regulations on investment properties.Yep, that's Communism. Can't wait for this board to support this stuff full-throatedly despite the denials now.
And when the inevitable yOuRlYiNgLiAr posts show up:
Our goal is to put workers in charge of the government through a new democratic constitution that establishes civil, political, and democratic rights for all, is based on proportional representation in a single federal legislature, and ends the role of money in politics.
With a government by, for, and of the working class and with powerful labor unions and social movements organizing in every city and town, we hope to build a socialist society where people come before profit, basic needs are guaranteed, the largest corporations are put under public ownership and democratic control, peace around the world is secured, and workers around the world join together in common struggle to construct socialism worldwide.https://platform.dsausa.org/program/Yeah, that's Communism. What else do these lunatics - and soon this board - believe in?
NO MORE ECONOMIC WARFARE
End economic sanctions that impact the sovereignty of countries whose governments act independently of the United States, such as Cuba, Venezuela, and Iran. Not surprisingly, they're fans of the mullahs.
FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT
Allow workers to freely migrate between countries to seek employment without restrictive immigration controls. Demilitarize the border, end all immigrant detention and deportations, immediate amnesty for all immigrants regardless of current immigration status, and provide access to jobs, labor rights, and social services to all immigrants. And they don't believe in borders at all.
UNIVERSAL SUFFRAGE
Extend full voting rights to people with criminal convictions and noncitizens and establish statehood for Washington D.C. Hilarious. There's no such thing as a United States at this point.
REDUCE THE POWER OF THE SUPREME COURT
Limit the Court’s power of judicial review which it uses to effectively create and abolish laws outside the legislative process.LOL. In other words, once the party has spoken, you proles can Shut Up.

We old phartz remember when a lot of USian workers had company paid pension and retirement medical plans, in addition to personal savings and Social Security. The company benefits were taken away in service of "JC" enrichment. Recently, the head of SS recommended an immediate 25% cut in benefits to all current retirees, rather than a larger benefit cut later, while Congress continues to pass legislation to advance the "JC" enrichment project. Meanwhile, the "supply side economic miracle" has floated on rising levels of debt for 40 years.

Oh yeah. Yes it is. That's very bad.
But this has been happening to the people Scott hates for close to a decade and Scott has encouraged it. The best option would be to stop it completely. But we all know that if we stop it for Scott, he will simply tell everyone to do it to his political enemies.
Oh well. It sucks that we eroded the norms that are necessary for a functional society. Have fun with that, Scott! I hope no one treats you as badly as you have encouraged people to treat your political enemies.

"One danger of nationalism, Friedrich Hayek warned in 1960, was the "bridge it provides from conservatism to Communism."
"Like a kid in a toy store with a nearly unlimited supply of someone else's money, Donald Trump is on a shopping spree the likes of which America has never seen.
Trump has now taken pieces of more than a dozen private companies. And it is all happening without even an attempt at getting congressional authorization."
"Even in light of the administration's other intrusions into the free market—hiking tariffs on nearly all imports, applying ideological conditions on schools and media companies,
we've witnessed a breathtaking turn of events. Trump and his top officials have signaled that they are only getting started. In August he told reporters "I want to try and get as much as I can!"
"The Trump administration's pivot toward communism/socialism did not come without warning. One particular moment stands out:
In an April interview with Time, Trump declared that America was akin to "a department store." He elaborated: "I meet with companies, and then I set a fair price."
"Trump has transformed the U.S. economy from a free market to a command economy, complete with the ability for Trump to manipulate the market and tip the scales in favor of his own investments,
preferences and friends or family."
"All the methods of interventionism are doomed to failure, because the more the government intervenes—e.g., tariffs, subsidies, regulations, price controls,
bailouts—the more it distorts the economy and everyday living. To remedy the problem, the government intervenes again and again, which only compounds the chaos.
This the path to socialism by installments." ~Ludwig von Mises
"Today it’s Intel, U.S. Steel and MP Materials, tomorrow it could be any industry. Socialism is literally government control of the means of production.
When you see the people supporting the president just sort of saying 'this is good' I worry that the free market movement that was a big part of the Republican Party
is gone." ~Senator Rand Paul

When life expectancy was ~70 and somebody retired at 62, they didn't take too many benefits, did they?
lessee what the net sifter says:
In 1940, the life expectancy for the total U.S. population at age 60 was approximately 15.8 additional years (meaning a 60-year-old could expect to live to about 75.8 years of age). When broken down by sex, the estimates varied slightly depending on the actuarial report:Males: ~14.8 additional yearsFemales: ~16.8 additional years
vs today's supply side shinyland?
In 2020, the U.S. life expectancy at age 60 was 21.2 additional years.A breakdown of life expectancy remaining at age 60 by sex from the Social Security Administration Actuarial Life Table:Total: 21.2 additional yearsMen: 19.4 additional yearsWomen: 22.9 additional years
And, when can a 60 year old, now, take full SS benefits?
For someone currently 60 years old, the full retirement age (FRA) to receive 100% of your Social Security benefits is 67 years old. This applies to anyone born in 1960 or later.
So life expectancy has increased by a bit more than 5 years, but the retirement age increase took 2 of those years back.
Of course, if Proles were paid more, they would pay more in FICA too. But can't do that. Must break their unions, or offshore production, so the "JCs" can have more.

So life expectancy has increased by a bit more than 5 years, but the retirement age increase took 2 of those years back.
More than that. The way to read that is the following:
In 1940, if you were a guy, your average life expectancy was ~61 years. If you made it to 65, those people generally lasted until ~77.
In 2001, the average guy can make it ~74 years. If you made it to 65, you can probably live another 15 years (to 80).
So the average life expectancy has gone up by quite a lot...meaning many *more* people are making it to 65 and thus pushing into their 80s. Bear in mind this data is 20 years old.
What happens to a social insurance scheme that relies on an ever-increasing population to continue to provide for the retired? What happens if, say, one generation doesn't have enough kids?

What "JC" wants anyone around at 77, or 80? Proles start breaking down. Knee replacements. Hip replacements. Cataract surgery. Open heart surgery, like Wendy, and one of my neighbors had, in their early 70s. And it isn't just the cost of treatment, it's the downtime for recovery. What "JC" will take that "burden"?
What if one of these old phartz has a heart attack in your office or plant? Even if you are "lucky" and they die on the spot, so you aren't "burdened" with treatment and recovery costs, having paramedics running through the plant, trying to save the guy's life, will distract the other Proles. When the other Proles are distracted, they aren't working and making you MONEY.
Even if one old phart is a "super ager", and is still a perfect picture of male vigor and virility, like Trump, they don't have the stamina of someone half their age. If an old phart falls asleep in his office, like Trump, he isn't working and making you MONEY.
If Proles were plow horses, you could put a bullet in their head, and get another one, when their productivity falls off. But the "libs" would probably not like that. So, retirement was invented, to pay the unproductive, high repair cost, old phartz to go away.
What is your solution?

Now you're arriving at the conclusion as to *why* we don't have Defined Benefit plans any more: No company can afford to pay past employees forever and ever, often 20 years+ after they've stopped working.
What is your solution?
The solution(s) are NOT
-"Universal free healthcare"
-"Medicare for all"
...or whatever communist takeover scheme is. Want free healthcare? Then The Proles are going to get their diet and exercise habits dictated to them.
That means your bloodwork will be taken regularly. Your VO2 Max recorded. All that stuff. And if you fall outside what the stats say "healthy" is for your age, you get put on a mandatory diet and exercise program.

Several things. There's a certain segment of the population that thinks it's a-okay to smoke weed all day, eat donuts for dinner and never exercise. These people need to start ditching the bad habits and getting with the Healthy Program ASAP.
If you guys want free healthcare, you're going to have to give something up. As in, a lot of your personal discretion of what you eat and what you do. The dsa can't just demand everybody pay for bad habits and lifestyles- nope.

And the more the Proles do everything wrong, the more of them will fall off their perch, before they are old enough to retire.
from the net sifter:
By Gender: White men without a high school diploma typically have a life expectancy of about 67 to 69 years, while white women without a high school diploma average around 73 years
Education Gap: The lifespan for this demographic is up to 11 years shorter than for white Americans with a bachelor's degree (which is roughly 84 years).

from the net sifter: Michigan tax revenue from weed, vs gambling.
Michigan collects significantly more tax revenue from gambling than it does from marijuana sales. In 2025, Michigan's booming iGaming and online sports betting market generated over $590 million in tax revenue. Conversely, marijuana sales tax—while substantial—generate roughly $300 million annually, with early 2026 figures showing shortfalls on road-funding projections.
If being high makes people more prone to gamble, the state gets a twofer. Then there are the "JCs". Weed is still a highly fragmented business in the state, unlike gambling, which is pushed by global companies.
