OK, if I could sue the Dems for political malpractice, I would be a very rich man. The Dems have made this a race between Biden and a mythical “better” Dem. While the Dems have plenty of potential younger candidates (Harris, Newsome, Moore, Shapiro, Pritzker, Whitmer, etc), it is never good advice to change horses midstream. It’s a bad look for the Dems.
Meanwhile, the entire news cycle has been Biden is old and what mythical candidate would be better. Chasing myths is a fool’s errand (and a fight over which mythical “better” candidate to choose would be damaging). And yes, Biden is old. Not a very well kept secret. Heck, he was old 4 years ago. Sure, he’s lost a few steps, but he remains a decent person, believes in democracy, and has probably has forgotten more about politics than all of us combined ever knew.
And despite the Dems attempt to make this a race between Biden and a mythical better candidate, it isn’t.
This is a race between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
Now if the Dems continue to make this a race between Biden and a mythical replacement, we’re going to lose.
If it’s a race between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, we win.
After extensive research, believe it or not I’ve actually discover one or two flaws with Donald Trump:
-He’s a sociopath
-He’s a pathological liar
-He’s stolen money from a charity
-He’s bankrupted over a dozen companies
-He will gladly impose a nationwide abortion ban
-He said wants to be a dictator
-He admires dictators
-He is an adjudicated rapist
-He is unable to speak coherently
-He has fantasized having sex with his daughter
-He has bankrupted family businesses by not paying them
-He is a 34 count felon
-He stored top secrets in a storage room next to a pool
-He is ignorant (not stupid, but ignorant)
-He thinks it’s OK to grab women by their private parts
-He quotes Adolf Hitler
-He thinks illegal immigrants are taking jobs from blacks
-He incited an insurrection that led to several deaths
-He is a chaos agent
-He thinks he is above the law (law is for the little people)
-His pandemic response was one of the worst for developed nations
-He is supported by white supremacists, neo-nazis, and racists
-Despite losing over 60 court cases, he insists on voter fraud
-He has called POWs losers
-He’s pardoned war criminals
-He discussed imposing martial law
-He is obese, has a poor diet, and never exercises (except his mouth)
-He and his family have accepting bribes
-Lord knows, I’m missing many, many more
And, if he wins, most likely Thomas and Alito resign and replaced with much younger versions of themselves, making the SCOTUS crazy conservative for decades
But wait Alpha, everyone already knows these things. Yes, and it becomes almost impossible to keep up the constant flow of lies and outrages. Any controversy is soon replaced with another. Look out project 2025. Instead, the Dems need to focus on 4 or 5 points and repeat them over and over and over. And then repeat them again. It requires discipline as opposed to herding cats. And don’t just focus on the past, talk about the future, too (we’ll keep the economy firing on all cylinders, jobs aplenty, inflation continuing to abate, etc.).
Why have Reps been so quiet lately? Never interrupt your opponent when they’re busy digging. The Dems are in a circular firing squad.
Fools.
Stop wringing your hands and grow a set. When someone asks about Joe, answer about Don.
Let’s get back to making this a race between an old guy and a greedy insane power-hungry sociopath who wants to end our democracy.

No. Not the Dems - Biden did that. And everyone know it's a Biden vs Trump right now. Rant all you want - Biden did it, not the Dems.

No. Harris is not a mythical candidate, is she? She's right there. The Convention is a few weeks away, and we need to get things decided before it starts - so we can unify behind whoever is there. What Albaby has described is happening, we are now getting groups together to ask him to step aside. Fielding a town hall would do nicely. If he can shore up. There is no doubt he can do the job and we know his accomplishments, doing that job and doing a debate are two different skill sets. He made a huge mistake and didn't shore up his ability in the debate.
Make no mistake I vote Dem and give money no matter who it is. I or we don't decide - Joe does.

That is not at all clear.
Every time I hear or see Biden he looks/sounds worse. In this case perception may be everything. Trump's campaign wants to run against Biden. Biden is not going to suddenly look and sound younger or less frail.
Sure, it is a big roll of the dice to switch candidates but I don't think Biden has much of a chance now and replacing him might be a risk worth taking.
That said, of course I will vote for Biden if he is the nominee.
