'Reading the breathless ' and increasingly unhinged ' reports in the left-wing media, you might think that Fox News is staggering against the ropes and about to crumple to the canvas for the final, bloody count-out after 25 years on the air.
'Fox News is in serious hot water,' CNN squealed last month, reporting on a 'smoking gun' that had supposedly just been unearthed in a billion-dollar lawsuit that 'represents a serious threat to the channel.'

As has become the rule, the truth is dramatically different from the stories these people are telling you. In fact, the truth is pretty much the exact opposite. Fox News today is thriving like never before.'

'Week in and week out, Fox News beats its cable news 'competitors' CNN and MSNBC by massive margins. In the rankings, Fox News programs routinely monopolize the top 15 or so slots for the most watched cable news shows.
Last Friday, for instance, MSNBC's top-rated show came in 15th place ' meaning that 14 Fox News programs beat MSNBC's highest-rated show.'

As has been mentioned before, ratings are irrelevant to an outlet's accuracy. In fact, you have been provided numerous sources (including court filings) detailing how FOX was kicking themselves for calling Arizona for Biden because it affected viewership. Didn't matter that they were first (which they were), and they were correct (ditto). Their viewers didn't like it, and their ratings dropped a bit. But they were still correct, and for once they did their job and reported it. From what we know from internal memos, they may not make that "mistake" again.

Don't focus on ratings. Ratings are not relevant to anything except how popular (and potentially profitable) they are.

First, this is an op-ed, not a news item. Second, no one said Fox is not popular. Third, let's wait and see if Fox stumbles to the canvas if hit with a multi-billion dollar judgment and compelled to repeat over and over and over again in a detailed on-air statement that it knowingly lied to its audience, never believed its lies, and only lied to its audience for ratings and advertising dollars (or whatever Dominion demands Fox read).

After reading the Fox material, do you disagree that Fox acted with reckless disregard for the truth?

Finally, it's likely should Dominion win this suit, that other lawsuits will follow (such as the lawsuits against Trump that will be filed by injured Capitol Police officers and Democratic lawmakers over the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol).

You thrash the "left-wing media" as having no principles, no ethics, no concern with reality, just with getting their way. And you vaunt the right-wing and far-right-wing media as doing justice to the truth. Can't you see that both extremes tend to distort the truth for their own purposes? Extremism is extremism, whether it's on the right or left.
