I'm not Catholic but Pope Leo XIV carried the cross across all fourteen stations for over an hour and his prayers named children who had been “taken away and imprisoned during protests, deported by policies devoid of compassion, shipwrecked on desperate journeys of hope, killed in war zones, and wiped out in death camps” but I guess he's too woke for today's Christians.
My wife and I attend a Presbyterian church in Ann Arbor when neither of us has a preaching engagement somewhere else.
This morning, the pastor led intercessory prayers for just about every group targeted by this administration, whose lives have been disrupted or shattered by the cruelty of the Trump regime.
And she didn’t even have to name Trump specifically.
We prayed for immigrants whose families have been destroyed, for people in Gaza, Iran, Israel and throughout the Middle East who find themselves in a war that they didn’t choose..
And for those whose sexuality has made them targets…
Lord have mercy.
