In today's criminal trial procedings for New York vs Trump, David Pecker testified about Trump's direct involvement in discussions with Pecker about the logistics of continuing existing "catch and kill" agreements with Katherine McDougal. The key takeaway from Pecker's first two days of testimony of course is that the scheme to catch and kill the stories AND the scheme to disguise those payments as miscellaneous legal expenses paid by the Trump Organization business to Trump Organization employee Michael Cohen weren't rogue operations initated by Cohen and/or Pecker. They started with direct conversations WITH Trump, Pecker and Cohen in the same room and were based upon prior work Pecker had volunteered to perform to help Trump. These conversations continued to be held after Trump took office because, of course, "the problems" were still out there and began agitating to take their stories public.
One of those discussions during the Trump Presidency was held IN the White House and also included Hope Hicks and Sara Huckabee Sanders. Presumably, they were acting in their "official capacities" to assist with the communication needs of the White House. The purpose of the discussion was to determine if McDougal should be "kept under conract" to keep her silence and both Hicks and Sanders weighed in on the debate and agreed it was a good thing to keep payments flowing.
I just love when women stick together when protecting their boss who they know is treating other women like trash. Way to look out for the sisterhood, ladies. It seems clear Hicks will be called to testify. It won't be clear how cooperative she will be. The real question is what should happen and what will happen to Sara Huckabee Sanders. She is after all Governor of a real state and all. Real Christian-like, that one.
