In todays news, Ray Dalio states the obvious:

"Hedge fund billionaire Ray Dalio has warned Donald Trump’s America is drifting into 1930s-style autocratic politics — and said other investors are too scared of the president to speak up."

"I think that what is happening now politically and socially is analogous to what happened around the world in the 1930-40 period."

"He also warned of dangers of the Federal Reserve losing its independence. If the central bank yields to political pressure to keep interest rates low,
that would undermine the confidence in the Fed defending the value of money and make holding dollar-denominated debt assets less attractive."

"If Trump managed to influence the Fed’s decisions on interest rates, that would present a very serious danger to the American and global economies."

"International investors have already started shifting out of Treasuries into gold, he noted."

"Most people are silent because they are afraid of retaliation if they criticize."

MAGA voted for isolationism without understanding the consequences. Here come the consequences.

Dalio is supposed to be a business genius. He is widely quoted in many publications and fawned over by economic/investing pundits. But it took him almost 9 months to figure out that Trumplethinskin is an autocrat.

DALIO: "The great excesses that are now projected as a result of the new budget will likely cause a debt-induced heart attack in the relatively near future.
I’d say three years, give or take a year or two."

Americas credibility is shot, our economy is on the verge of collapse, the stock market and the dollar are sinking like a rocks,
the measles are making a comeback and I just narrowly survived a plane crash...
But at least that one trans-kid from Idaho is off the badminton team!

It seems like Ray has been calling for a recession or a depression for a couple of decades.
I don't follow him closely, though, so maybe he is more nuanced than that.

Another one that I believe was pro Trump is Mike Shedlock, from the old TMF. I tried reading
the articles ans the comments on his site, but the commenters are deep up Trump's butt, so I don't see any value in it. But Mike has recently wrote about what a disaster Trump is
becoming with his tariffs, which is infuriating because Trump was very clear on what he was going to do upon election, which was to do whatever the Project 2025 "thought leaders"
dreamed up.

I will credit Mike with TWS, Trump Worship Syndrome, his use of it was the first I'd seen
it used. A few commenters stated that he was turning woke, that he needed to give Trump time to work his "magic", and Mike clapped back hard about their TWS affliction.
