If someone appears to be repeatedly personal, lean towards patience as they might not mean offense. If you are sure, however, then do not deepen the problem by being negative; instead, simply place them on ignore by clicking the unhappy yellow face to the right of their name.

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-administrati... Trump administration poised to accept 'palace in the sky' as a gift for Trump from Qatar: SourcesIn what may be the most valuable gift ever extended to the United States from a foreign government, the Trump administration is preparing to accept a super luxury Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet from the royal family of Qatar -- a gift that is to be available for use by President Donald Trump as the new Air Force One until shortly before he leaves office, at which time ownership of the plane will be transferred to the Trump presidential library foundation, sources familiar with the proposed arrangement told ABC News.
The gift is expected to be announced next week, when Trump visits Qatar on the first foreign trip of his second term, according to sources familiar with the plans.
Trump toured the plane, which is so opulently configured it is known as "a flying palace," while it was parked at the West Palm Beach International Airport in February.Spin it MAGA, spin it!

when did the world suddenly get so many savvy businessmen that wanted nothing in return?
with qatar expected to become the largest competitor to america for LNG exports, i would expect quid pro quo to most likely show up in that area.
i guess trump will worry later about who will pay for the plane's upkeep once its gifted to him as 'used' in 2028.
after all, he will still have to direct gop donations somewhere.

No need to be ready or to aim. Just FIRE !!! (Typical MAGA incompetence)

Nothing says, Made in America and America First, quite like accepting a luxury jet as a bribe from a foreign country!
It's almost like the emoluments clause doesn't even exist...
Also I wonder how many electronic bugs will be preinstalled in this new Qatar gift plane...and what Don is gonna give them in return?

Well, it is a Boeing 747-8, so at least it was made by an American company. And it will be first modified by the U.S Air Force to comply with specs needed for all planes used to transport the POTUS. At that time, I'd assume it will be extensively examined for suspicious electronic modifications. But it still might be easy to miss something in such a large piece of equipment.

g0177325: Well, it is a Boeing 747-8, so at least it was made by an American company.
Well, then, that makes it alright.
Umm.
I'm old enough to remember republicans screaming bloody murder and holding congressional hearings when private citizen Hunter Biden and his firm were supposed to have raked in $11 million or so.
This Boeing 747-8 will cost at least $500 million.
That's a half-billion.
And the jet will be donated to Trump’s presidential library when he leaves the White House and be available for the personal use of Mad King Donald at all times.
And can we assume Qatar will pay the $23,000/hour that it costs to operate the jet?
But, sure, republicans won't say a word about this clear violation of the emoluments clause and clear ethical violation because of course.
But, yeah, at least it's made in America.

OK, I think you’re overreacting.
No need for electronic bugs. I’m quite sure Qatar has already downloaded the Signal app from the Apple Store.

Yup, that's what they'll say. I guarantee it. But nothing about any violation of the emoluments clause. Bondi is already wriggling a way around that by saying that the eventual donation to the presidential library makes it not actually a gift to a sitting president.

The grift is expected to be announced next week, when Trump visits Qatar on the first foreign trip of his second term, according to sources familiar with the plans.
I fixed the typo in that sentence.
This POTUS term is turning out to be everything Donny ever dreamed of...in terms of grifting.
SO MUCH CORRUPTION!

Will it? Those modifications haven’t yet been done on the two planes the grifter in chief bought during his last term.
He’s got the attention span of a gnat. He wants his shiny new toy NOW!!!!! He won’t have the patience to wait long at all. He will want to use it right away. And no one in the Air Force or the secret service will have the guts to tell him No.

Well, then I hope he neglects any attempt to make it less vulnerable to being shot down, and some foreign actor(s) take advantage of it. And with all the incompetents Trump has installed, and the experienced former subject matter experts that have been cut, the likelihood of a "very bad result" is exponentially increased. There, I said it.

Kim described North Korea's involvement in the war as "justifiable" before taking aim at the U.S. and the West and their "tacky defective munitions." He said, if the weapons were used in another attack on Russia, Pyongyang would deploy more troops.
Hoping it has embedded chips that reroute/land the plane on otto in Houthiville.

Trump is the best thing that ever happened to anybody that is against America.
Shit, America's enemies will be shadowing every flight that Trump takes in that plane, ready
to shoot down anybody or anything that tries to take their meal-ticket Trump out.

Well the first thing that needs doing to that 747 is to make it capable of air to air refueling. It would need to be gutted in good measure to accomplish that. The all the electronics and engine management need hardening against EMP. It needs a war room with pentagon level communications. Don't forget countermeasures, also not an option.
Might cost as much as the value of the aircraft to accomplish all that and more.

Yep.
The installation of hidden surveillance components is but a small piece of the millions of parts and accompanying "official" requirements.

That’s what a normal President would want. Trump is not normal.
He doesn’t care about air to air refueling or secure communications or EMP hardening or any of that “useless” stuff. He only likes the opulence and shiny trinkets of the visible interior.
If this goes through, he’ll either start using it right away or just let it sit until his term is over and it’s all his to use.

this is getting WAY too predictable. not just a loan, the plane will be gifted post-term.
and to rescue the trump presidential library, presumably whenever mar-a-lago succumbs to sea rise of fake climate change.
which means the toilet doors will be blocked with classified docs, and trump will need a newer plane.

The plane will be the albatross around his neck--particularly when HE has to pay the ongoing costs of maintaining and operating it.

The plane will be the albatross around his neck--particularly when HE has to pay the ongoing costs of maintaining and operating it.
That may be part of the reason he wants a new personal plane. His 757 is getting old, and he mostly let the maintenance go during his first term. I'm sure it was a bit expensive to get it up and flying again back in Jan 2021.
And by making it not "his plane" but belonging to the "Trump library", he can pawn off all the operating costs on the library foundation. Which is mostly to be expected, anyway. That foundation will be like his previous charity - a source of funds to loot and pillage for his personal use.
Besides, the library itself doesn't need to be anything more than a large bathroom with a gold toilet and boxes of his archives strewn around.
