The S&P is about to do something that has only occurred 4 times in the last 97 years and for the first time since 1997-98.
The S&P 500 is set to gain more than 24% this year after rising 24% in 2023. Back-to-back gains of over 20% would be the best performance for the benchmark index since 1997 and 1998, according to data from FactSet.
And that’s with the S&P being down 2.3% in December, the month after Musk and Trump were elected president and First Lady, respectively. Strange, that.
In addition, inflation has come down from 9.1% in June 2022 to the current rate of 2.7%. We had the largest infrastructure bill in our history (and bipartisan, to boot). Computer chips are now being manufactured in the United States, which is a positive for both the economy and our national security. Depression level unemployment, food lines, high levels of Covid deaths, bodies stored in refrigerated trucks, and an economy heading for a recession were overcome by the American Rescue Plan. A bipartisan immigration bill was about to be passed until president-elect Musk shut it down. Our economy is the strongest of the industrial nations.
Some posters here think President Biden is senile and the country is being run by Dr. Jill Biden. If so, boy did we screw up by not electing a woman.
Things aren’t perfect, but they never are. Housing and egg prices are high. However, the positives clearly outweigh the negatives.
These positives were rewarded by electing a cognitive challenged candidate who is unable to put two coherent sentences together, not to mention that he has bankrupted numerous companies including casinos. His message is one of hate and divisiveness. Every policy he has stated either worsens our national debt or increases inflation (and most do both). He is owned by the oligarchs and is nothing but a puppet to their whims. He has nominated the worst group of avaricious billionaires and his supporters think these crooks, cheats, and assorted idiots (a confederacy of dunces) will actually help the middle class.
Other posters actually believe that Trump’s opponents were responsible for electing Trump, NOT the people who actually voted for him.
Buckle up folks.
You can’t fix stupid.
