Subject: War is Peace
Tonight, just before midnight, the President posted: “PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH, TO PUT IT MILDLY!!!”

Trying to make sense of what is driving global macroeconomics from my current perch off-shore of Lombok, Indonesia brings up images of the perpetual war coupled with government slogans like:

"WAR IS PEACE. FREEDOM IS SLAVERY. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH."
"BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU."
"WHO CONTROLS THE PAST CONTROLS THE FUTURE. WHO CONTROLS THE PRESENT CONTROLS THE PAST."

brought into play by:

the Ministry of Truth (propaganda), Ministry of Love (law and order), Ministry of Plenty (economic affairs), and Ministry of Peace (war).

What a change 42 years can make?
