Subject: Legendary Jordan’s CEO Retiring
Berkshire bought Jordan’s Furniture back in 1999…so typical of Buffett acquisitions:he’ll do the deal so long as Elliot Tatelman would continue running it so brilliantly. Elliot kept his word—for 25 years! Elliot announced today he’s finally retiring at age 78. He’s an iconic New England figure.

Elliot Tatelman was not just the face of Jordan's — a company founded by his grandfather more than 90 years ago — he's been at its heart. That included making sure it’s many charitable programs like Jordan's Coats for Kids were at the core of the company's philosophy.

Daily operation of the company will now be passed to Tatelman's sons, Josh and Michael, who have been co-CEOs of Jordan's since 2019.

Buffett lauded Elliot and his brother Barry for making shopping at Jordan’s a fun experience…a destination.

Jordan’s has been an incredibly successful subsidiary for Berkshire. Elliot will be missed. He’s a rock star.
