Subject: Maher and Buttigieg
I haven't watched Maher in a while. I pretty much know where he stands, and usually agree with (though not always). But it popped-up on the list of suggestions for MAX, and I saw Buttigieg's name. So I thought I would check it out (Pete is a smart guy, and is likely to play a role in future Dem politics).
His latest episode is worth watching. I stuck around for the rest of the show about Pete's interview. He had a black Trumpie (though very well-spoken, unlike many of his followers), and a black celebrity. His (Pete's) interview, I thought, went really well. He took apart JD Vance pretty easily. If you don't have MAX (HBO), you can find clips all over YouTube. As of the taping, Biden had not yet dropped out. I'm sure the entire program will be available on YouTube in the coming days.

Maher's closing was really good. It highlighted the religious iconography surrounding convict Trump. Which is kinda scary. Maher pointed out that it parallels the attitudes (at the time) regarding the pharaohs, emperor Hirohito, and Julius Caesar. Either divine, or quasi-divine. Which convict Trump, of course, isn't. But he is regarded by many of his followers to be (don't know how many). Reinforced by the failed assassination attempt ("God saved him for a purpose!"). Those folks are flat nuts.
