How, exactly?

By oppressing opposition. Making it harder for certain citizens to vote. By filling the cabinet with unqualified people who will enrich themselves and accomplish nothing for the ordinary population. By filling the civil service with unqualified partisan hacks whose only job is to be "yes men" to the president. By appointing biased judges who will allow the president and his followers to twist and bend the law to their will. By alienating our long-time allies. By coddling up to foreign dictators and autocrats. By dictating what ordinary citizens can do with their bodies, what books they can read, who they can love, and ultimately how they can think.
