Subject: Earnings
AMZN is not a large holding for me, so I don't watch it as closely as some other investments but they reported earnings today and they confirmed a lot about the state of the tech cycle.

History, I made an initial investment in January 2022 at $140, and then doubled down at $125 in April of that year. Haven't done anything since. At close today (its up 12% after hours) - it was 2% of my portfolio.

Earnings snapshot

https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/3...

Earnings per share : $1.95 vs. $1.57 estimated
Revenue : $180.17 billion vs. $177.8 billion estimated
Amazon Web Services : $33 billion vs. $32.42 billion expected
Advertising : $17.7 billion vs. $17.34 billion expected

The revenue line is what I typically look at, and $180.17B is up from $147.98B a year ago; 21.7% growth - at this scale is incredible.

Won't comment too much on valuation (its stretched for sure); but the quarter was worth posting about.
