Subject: Re: Climate Change Could Cause Home Insurance Meltdown
It's a ling article, but tl;dr it's not climate change (which does matter in the long tun) but the cap on insurance rate increases, another man-made problem. Perhaps less solvable in California than climate change 🙂
A somewhat free market in insurance will definitely induce insurance companies to stay in CA. Maybe not in Florida.
National average increase in 8 years is a whopping 21%. Math deficient NPR doesn't explain (maybe deliberately) how small that is per year. Even the 40% in Colorado is < 5% per year. Considering the future implications of climate change that's nothing.
