trysts with trump didnt get him a ring. kim was so pissed that nothing substantial happened, it resulted in 2 outcomes:

- russia became their fastest growing ally, just before the ukraine war.
now russia is their most critical trading partner; and has exchanged invaluable defense tech (satcoms, ICBMs,...) that was unlikely to come from china. N.Korea sent human cannon fodder and decades of expiring munitions.
of course, ongoing russia trade strongly boosted a puttering economy with civilians near starvation.

- china was losing influence, and made their first state visit in forever.
both nations have anti-west kinetics as common ground, e.g. cybercrime.
greater partnership on such more likely.
