Subject: Re: Now libs want your lawnmower
Times change. I replaced my smelly, loud gas-powered lawn mower (which required trips to the gas station and expensive tune ups every couple of years) with an electric model more than a decade ago. All the electric models need are a new (or sharpened) blade every couple of years and a good cleaning a few times during the summer months.
As I type this at 07:26 a.m. I'm watching our contractor and his guys getting set up for the day. First thing they do is plug in their compressor and banks of chargers for their power tool batteries. Saws, grinders, jackhammer, all powered by our solar panels.
Since 2021 my monthly bill from Pacific Gas & Electric: $00.00 PGE ought to pay me for the excess solar panel production that they sell on the open market, but I'm still stoked to pay zero to cook, heat our water, charge our E-bikes...and power all my contractors equipment. Soon they'll finish the new garage and I'll have a charger for the wife's EV.
Our tiny town (pop 10k) just got its first public charging station in the parking lot of the only supermarket in town. 20 chargers on the row closest to the street.
"a 22-acre, 600-megawatt battery energy storage system that would provide a power supply to 450,000 homes"
And...soon San Luis Obispo will be the site of world's largest BESS, current coming from the new floating turbine field sited 30 miles offshore.

It's kinda humorous that the right-wing outrage machine has got its rage-platoons screaming "save the whales" "save the birds" as they 'roll coal' in their vanity duallies.
