just commenting in my case, this was the rare simple situation where one could just wait and see if the market would reward bam with a higher valuation like its closer asset light peers. at the same time, it was hard not to see an undervaluation in the rest of bn.
once bam got its peer-like premium, as flatt explicitly stated as the spin goal well prior, there where many months where you could decide to set your bam sell price and wait.

of course luck helps, as i have a policy to eventually dispose anything other core brookfield where insiders hold most of their position.
i also lightened up on bn in 2024 , for the first time, for tax loss offsets and its overweight position as my top holding.
