Foam with spray paint? :) I remember finding out that the Aztecs and Mayans made an alloy with gold, and then rubbed the juice of a plant on it which dissolved everything but the gold on the surface. So what looked like a solid piece of gold was actually an alloy with a veneer of gold. It may even be 3D printed. Have you seen the picture comparisons to the Home Depot stuff?
