Well, Dope, the sheer will of becoming was demonstrated on Jan 6. Yes, we saw the will of Trump and Jan 6ers overcome the electoral college, reinstall Trump as President and save 'Murica. We are in awe of the absolute power of sheer will.

On the other hand the character in the novel is killed because he thinks he has become bulletproof. But Jan 6 shows us all the power of sheer will.
