No, it's not. Again, there's no plausible scenario where Trump would have asked them and not scream to the world if they said no.

So they didn't say no. Either he asked them and they said yes, or more likely didn't ask them (because they would have said yes, and that would have undercut his case for trying to own Greenland for other reasons).

There is no chance whatsoever that he asked and was turned down. And if I were a betting man, I'd guess he never asked.
