Subject: President's Day Opinion Piece
To my surprise I found this post on AOL. It talks about the current President and past Presidents.

I don't think I can repost it if I read its rights correctly. And I don't attempt to post it on the Policy Board - their "debates" are useless.

So I encourage a read here where these is still rational discussion.

I'll also add something I've shared before. I've now lived through more than one-third of the history of the USA. I've never been really concerned about it until now. That span covers coming out of the Great Depression, WWII, Korea, the Cold War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, stock market crashes, the civil rights movements, Viet Nam, the Gulf Wars, the current conflicts in the Ukraine, Iran, North Korea - plenty of reasons for worry.

This is the only episode I've really worried about - the abandonment of the Constitution by the President, the Supreme Court, the kneel-down of the Congress, the attempts to suppress civil liberties, ditto voting, and the absolute disregard of their oaths by most to uphold the Constitution.

The most "macro" events of my long life. One that threatens the very foundations of our nation.

If one reads "Peak Human" by Johan Norberg, this closes parallels past events in Athens, Rome, the Abbasid Caliphate, Song China, the Renaissance Italy, and the Dutch Republic - leading to the Anglosphere. Thousands of years.

We need to wake up and reclaim the principles that let us survive until to today.
