The attacker said he tried to shoot [the paster] because "God told him to do it".

The paster believed God had saved him from the attack.

Both are describing their experience.

Experience is ever emergent
as evolving sensation and recollection,
evoking cognition, anticipation, expression,
at once referencing and fashioning
organic remembrance of the whole.

The drama of recollection
performing within the symphony of remembrance,
is choreographed and orchestrated
by to-date conclusions and beliefs.

The paster and his attacker
exemplify the uniqueness
and possible disparity
of such orientations.

The challenge for each of us
is to sculpt our conclusions and beliefs
for most copacetic outcomes.

For my own purposes
I do my best to stay attuned to science
with an eye on widely respected ancient wisdom.
