Mostly it is a terribly cynical business model. They know what gets their ratings up...it's whatever most enrages their viewers. Look at LM for a classic example of how well this works. Those people are easily manipulated.

The pervasive cynicism in the RW media is obvious. And they could care less if they destroy the country. In their vision of the future I suppose they see themselves as beneficiaries if a Putin style kleptocracy.
