Barron's: Meryl, how do you see the year unfolding?

Meryl Witmer: The market isn't dirt cheap. If some of the many mentioned risks are realized, the potential exists for further downdrafts, but that would be a good buying opportunity. Also, problems in private equity are going to open the market for corporate bolt-on acquisitions, to the extent that companies can get regulatory approval for deals, which could help earnings.
