Subject: Chicago Named Best Big City in USA
...for a record ninth consecutive year by Conte Nast.

Not bad for a "war torn hellhole".

The magazine cited Navy Pier, McCormick Place, theaters and sporting arenas for attracting visitors. Visitors booked 3.56 million hotel rooms from June through August of this year, generating $949 million in revenue. Both are record numbers.

All that was driven by major events, including Lollapalooza, the downtown NASCAR race and numerous large-scale concerts at Soldier Field this summer, as well as a host of conventions. Tourism is a major economic driver for Chicagoland's economy, generating over $20 billion of economic impact, over 55 million visitors, and over 130,000 jobs in the Chicago area every year.

About the only war I see being fought in Chicagoland is being waged by ICE agents. Here are seven ICE Gestapo in five cars throwing a 15-year-old girl to the ground and zip-tying her for filming ICE agents in a parking lot. She was later released and went to the hospital for treatment of her injuries (from a 200+ pound Nazi kneeling on her neck): https://www.reddit.com/r/illin...
