Why would oil prices drop even lower after this "war" is "over", whatever "over" ends up meaning?

That same "logic" was being touted on bubblevision just before the invasion of Iraq: that US oil companies would flood in to Iraq, develop the resources, flood the market with oil, reducing the price. iirc, at that time, WTI was something like $17-$18/bbl. The talking heads were insisting their scenario would drop the price to $10.
