Subject: Re: Trump making noise about pardon power
It is another example of the framers of the Constitution being ordinary humans not the divinely inspired sages that the Christian nationalists would have us believe. They knew that the corrupt and contemptible would seek power. Each of them could probably name a few, and some of them they would name were likely among the people they were working with on forming a new government. What they didn't envision was that the white male voters would actually put someone like Trump in office. Given how difficult it is to amend the Constitution, it is unlikely that I will ever live to see the pardon power flaw corrected, but Trump could inspire many changes if he continues to rile up the electorate against him and those who enable him. I would love to see Trump remembered as the President who changed the face of American politics but not in the way he wants.
