I heard audio interviews with people outside one of the recruiting events. You could tell some of them were conflicted about doing the work, but were basically unable to pass up the money. Some former military washed up into Trump's big beautiful zombie economy. Some whose government service and work toward retirement had been destroyed by DOGE's wanton elimination of their jobs. A few true believers who heard Fox News and nodded.

And then you will have some people such as those we have seen on videos popping up far and wide, bullying, pepper-spraying, zip-tying children, dehumanizing people of color, etc. Natural sadists welcomed by a nihilistic political cult.

The liberation of Paris in 1944 sparked an immediate popular program of retribution against Nazi collaborators. People were hung from lampposts. Women’s heads were shaved. It was not a good time or place to be labeled a Nazi collaborator.

The more ICE breaks down doors without warrants and drags people naked out of houses and apartments, the more severe will be the backlash when this regime is ended.

I’m not advocating such behavior. I’m only pointing to what happens to those who choose the path of collaboration with an evil regime.
