Subject: Re: Losing Faith: Government!
WiltonKnight: Only two-in-ten Americans say they trust the government in Washington to do what is right 'just about always' (2%) or 'most of the time' (19%). Trust in the government has declined somewhat since last year...

Umm, your article was published June 2, 2022 and only measures through May 2022.

And if you bothered to actually look closely, trust in government during most of the Trump years was below 20%. Biden's first year is office, trust in government was 21% while in Trump's first year in office it was 19%. During the Clinton years it climbed from 24% to 44%.

More interestingly, trust in government during the Nixon years fell from 62% to 36% and during the GW Bush years from 60% to 24%. The declines are not surprising given all that transpired during their administrations. Since Bush the lesser, trust in government has been relatively steady at the very low end of the scale.

Since Trump spent his entire four years in office claiming the government was corrupt (and proving it by corrupting parts of the government), well, here we are.
