The major factors in the recent job cuts are 1) A.I. and automation; 2) cost-cutting by businesses; 3) post-pandemic adjustments by companies; 4) interest rates too high.

The only one of those that Trump has some indirect influence on is the interest rates, he has certainly been lobbying heavily for cuts to the interest rates, but the Fed actually has to make those decisions.
