Steve, You'll like this. My brother in the UK bought a Ford Transit plug in hybrid van for his business. He loves it. Charges from his solar/battery system.

So, he decided an EV SUV would be great for the family. Sold the Merc diesel. Seriously looked at the Ford Mach E... but yesterday bought a BYD Sealion 7. About the same discounted price (#40k ish). Better tech, better drive, LFP battery, better range.
