Subject: So Much Stupid: 100% Tariffs on Films
First, the statute Mad King Donald uses for emergency tariffs specifically excludes films (and how are films an emergency threat to "national security" anyway?). He has no authority to do this. BTW, what counts as "produced elsewhere" and how would those tariffs be administered?

Second, we have a trade surplus in the film industry, exporting three times the amount of content that we import. The US film industry is one of the most US-dominated industries on the planet.

Third, the inevitable retaliatory tariffs would absolutely kill foreign box office for US studios.

Aren't films a service industry? We run wildly successful surpluses everywhere on services. Does Mad King Donald really want to trigger retaliatory tariffs on services?

This is a "squirrel" moment by Mad Kind Donald to take the spotlight off of his pathetic "Meet the Press" performance, his continuing babbling about "those things you push babies around in" and "15-year-old young ladies with dolls," and his inability to negotiate a single trade agreement.

And the inability of his party to pass legislation or a budget.
