Limiting the spread and slowing it was possible. Stopping the spread was very highly unlikely - theoretical. The vaxx was to help prevent serious illness and death. Serious illness overloaded the hospitals, and on top of that were the Ivermectin overdoses from people made afraid of the vaxxes. So the misinformation led to more people getting sick and dying, and hospitals being overloaded with the sick and Ivermectin overdoses.

Then long Covid showed up.
