We grocery shop about once a month. We stock up on meat for the freezer, can goods, box goods, etc. When out and about we stop to buy perishables as needed.
Family and friends in conversations have complain about the rising cost of groceries and other goods. We didn't think a whole lot about it at the time.
Well, today we had a rude awakening for the cost of groceries from approx a month ago.
Like WOW! Six plus dollars for a pound of butter, seven dollars for a dozen and a half eggs, meat? out of sight. The list goes on. Fortunately being just the two of us now we can afford to pay our grocery bill and we did skimp some on what we wanted. Not saying I'm okay with the cost though. It would also be a different story if we were still raising our kids.
Our future donations will now be to local food pantries.....
