Trump Delays Healthcare Plan Announcement After ‘Significant Congressional Backlash’

President Donald Trump reportedly scrapped a planned announcement on extending Affordable Care Act subsidies set for Monday, after MS NOW journalist Jake Traylor reported he was facing “significant congressional backlash” from Republican lawmakers.

President Trump has criticized Obamacare a fair amount recently, saying it has been a “disaster” for most Americans.

“I am recommending to Senate Republicans that the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars currently being sent to money sucking Insurance Companies in order to save the bad Healthcare provided by ObamaCare, BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN PURCHASE THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, HEALTHCARE,” Trump posted earlier this month.

Remember the checks in mid-2020, where the plates had to be modified to put Trump's name on the checks. Then the checks were followed up by a letter that, in effect, said "I sent you money, aren't I great?"

His mouth has gotten him into a spot. The insurance companies have optimized their business model to exploit the ACA subsidies. Then the subsidies end. Does Trump care more for the Proles, than the insurance companies? The insurance companies have more money to pay out in bribes.

If anything, what will be enacted is a "premium support" voucher system, like Paul Ryan proposed for Medicare. People get a voucher worth some thousands of dollars, to help pay the premiums, but they will not have the protections, and the insurance companies will not have the constraints, of the ACA. Then watch premium escalation wildly outstrip increases in the vouchers, in the out years.
