That is the one that puzzles me. Why attack Oman, which was trying to mediate a deal? Or Bahrain? Or the Emirates? Qatar and Kuwait both host US bases. I can see attacking the bases, but why civilian targets?

I’m convinced that we’ve been grossly overestimating them for a long time.
