Too bad it is not possible to make any more LNG terminals or expand existing terminals.

Not sure how long it takes to expand an existing terminal, nor how much capacity that might add. But I think it takes 3 to 5 years (after the final investment decision, or FID, has been made) to build and start operating a new terminal. And that excludes the preceding steps needed to reach the FID, which can take years more due to permitting, agreements, and regulatory approvals.

So, seems as if it would take the United States many years to increase LNG shipments sixfold.
