Subject: Re: Munger passed away
Catching up on Charlie tributes and Saw this gem from Rg2 (not me) in comments of SA piece:
“"Good Night, Sweet Prince"
Less the silent titan of the duo
More artful with speech economy,
The fewer the words in investing matters
The better the prayer shall be
Buffett's ceaseless optimism; Munger's timely wit
The other's sentence they could complete,
The right-hand man and his biggest fan
Neither ever exuded conceit
On an ever even keel he appeared to ride
Emotions he held under control,
Premature acts and impulsive reacts
On a portfolio could take their toll
Don't chase yield, be steady on the field
Watch closely the other players' mistakes,
Take copious notes but keep the lips sealed
With patience a wise investor makes
An imperfect market, like an imperfect life
Presents opportunities nonetheless,
With cash on-hand for a mispriced demand
Makes picking more strategy than guess
Though I never attended an annual meet
Thank God for the convenience of YouTube,
A freshly cooked meal and a glass of wine
He'll feature prominently on my telecube
I can see him now, that bespectacled wiz
Plainspoken with nary a riddle,
The ever-neat coif and tony business suit
Munching happily on the peanut brittle
"It's envy, not greed, that runs the world..."
Gosh, could the sage sate my hunger,
For investing knowledge & a few life lessons
Good night, sweet prince, Mr. Munger. 🕊️
