When Mitt ran for POTUS, he was in a no-man's land. The left wouldn't vote for him, because he was a pretty strong "traditional family values" sort, and, as I saw at the rally I went to, he constantly genuflected to Bush's police state for "keeping us safe". But the nutters on the right would not vote for a Mormon.
