Weather prediction and reporting were part of the problem. The lack of timely flood
warnings was another. Two Kerr county commissioners said in 2016, when flood
warning sirens were proposed, “The thought of beautiful Kerr County having these
damn sirens going off in the middle of the night, I'm going to have to start drinking
again to put up with y'all.” And, “Some people don't like the concept of sirens going off
and disturbing People.” Well . . .
