Subject: Re: 9 GOP Election Deniers for Speaker
A few Democrat Representatives objected to the 2004 and 2016 election results (31 out of 199). The majority of Republican Representatives voted for the 2020 objection (138 out of 211), some out of fear for the safety of their families.
Democrat Representatives will vote against any known election denier becoming Speaker. Democrats would vote for a Republican Speaker if given some concessions. But the Republicans should be able to do this on their own, and compromise is punished by the MAGA extremists.

Amash's Successor Peter Meijer: Trump's Deceptions Are 'Rankly Unfit'
The rookie GOP congressman describes Capitol Hill chaos, says that some Republicans who knew better voted against election certification out of physical fear, and explains how serving in Iraq and Afghanistan made him want to "end the endless wars."
"And then one of the saddest things is I had colleagues who, when it came time to recognize reality and vote to certify Arizona and Pennsylvania in the Electoral College, they knew in their heart of hearts that they should've voted to certify, but some had legitimate concerns about the safety of their families. They felt that that vote would put their families in danger."

2021 United States Electoral College vote count
"Republican Congressman Peter Meijer said that several of his Republican colleagues in the House would have voted to certify the votes, but did not out of fear for the safety of their families,[93] and that at least one specifically voted to overturn Biden's victory against their conscience because they were shaken by the mob attack that day."

2017 United States Electoral College vote count
"A total of 10 state certificates were objected to by Democratic members of congress, all of which were to states won by Donald Trump. Objections to the votes needed to be in writing and signed by both a member of the House and a member of the Senate. Every House member who rose to object did so without a senator's signature."

2004 United States election voting controversies
"On January 6, 2005, Senator Barbara Boxer of California joined Representative Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Ohio in filing a congressional objection to the certification of Ohio's Electoral College votes due to alleged irregularities including disqualification of provisional ballots, alleged misallocation of voting machines, and disproportionally long waits in poor and predominantly African-American communities. The Senate voted the objection down 1'74; the House voted the objection down 31'267.[70] It was only the second congressional objection to an entire state's electoral delegation in U.S. history; the first instance was in 1877"
