I always have to laugh at the idiots who think DEI is about not giving promotions on merit.

If all you hire is white men (well over half of all firefighters in the country are white men) you are probably skipping over a lot of well qualified candidates.

That’s the E in DEI.

The D and I are getting more diverse people to apply in the first place.
