Subject: Re: Harris to build a border wall
Finally, a policy position from Kamala Harris. And...it's another one of Trump's.
Delicious.
Is it, though? AIUI, Harris announced her intent to revive the border bill that died in the Congress earlier this year. That bill has some border wall funding.
But it's the bill that Trump came out and opposed (let's not dive into the debate again over who opposed it first - Trump definitely opposed the bill).
As we discussed over and over again, the border bill was one of the rare proposals that contained a number of enforcement measures (including some wall funding), and no path to citizenship/DREAMER/other goodies. The Biden Administration backed the proposal. It's hardly a surprise that Harris is backing it as well.
Or am I missing something? Is she proposing an $18B stand-alone border wall funding provision like Trump wanted?
