a, trump\musk are chickenshi+ when it comes to china. if you have a nonsense fentanyl trade war, you SEVERELY punish the majority supplier of the raw materials rather than transport intermediaries. i cant imagine how small the volume must be from canada...can it even be reliably counted?

b. as mentioned ad nauseum in 2024 due to death of attribution, MAGA is now cheering on price increases (or at least blaming whoever trump selects today).

c. when trump changes his mind on tariffs in a few days\weeks\months, he will declare victory based on some retrospective spin.
most business people realize it takes years to restructure a reliable supply chain; which is why many will continue to move to friendshores, but also why musk will expand in china for ~4 years. how long til musk has a starlink\spaceX supply chain there?
