Those old medicine show quacks could, for sure, gather a large crowd and dazzle them with tales of wonder.

They’d sell bottled magic, and offer miraculous testimonials about the greatest elixer the world had ever seen.

But after a while, the crowds began to drift away. One by one, they figured out that the guy was just trying to separate them from their money, so they slipped away, leaving only the credulous, gullible folks who bought their “medicine” by the case and swore that the “good doctor” was a miracle worker.
