And it wouldn't have, and didn't, curtail Iran's nuclear program, since Iran wasn't abiding by it. They wouldn't let international inspectors into "sensitive" areas.

You are literally making shit up that isn't true.

Iran was abiding by the nuclear deal up to the point Trump abandoned the deal. Furthermore, inspectors had access to literally anywhere in the country if they wanted to (though some places required advanced notice). And before you stupidly go there, no, the advance notice part did not matter. It is still possible to detect enrichment activities if equipment was moved.
