It wasn't just the so-called enlightened "liberals calling people what they want to be called". It was "AND making it required for EVERYONE to call people what they want to be called" and "RE-EDUCATING the (evil) people who didn't want to do that on how Goodthink it was."

Bullcrap. Every time I've responded to this by calling conservatives other than what they wanted to be called, they objected. None have ever responded with 'I don't want to require you to refer to me in any particular way, so that's fine.' Conservatives want rigid gender roles and people to be forced to conform to those gender roles.
