thus, i found it interesting when charlie retracted a donation to a public university when they rejected a prison-styled student dormitory of charlie's own design as a condition.
(keep in mind charlie has no formal training in architecture)

on one hand, UCSB sits in one of the world's richest enclaves, and can afford to reject the money. i guess its UC and taxpayers that actually lose out. on the other hand, charlie has his bases covered with his quotes on cognitive dissonance.
