Subject: I read a lot of fiction.
But sometimes the middle grade and young adult fantasies have truths in them that put reporters and nonfiction writers to shame. I'm reading The Poisoned King by Katherine Rundell and was gobsmacked when I saw this line.
“He wants war. People don’t clamor for freedoms in wartimes as they do in times of peace.”
Does it make you think of anyone or any current situation?
