And since agents are there to protect their protectee, I find it highly unlikely anyone would admit that these kinds of conversations were happening. - pete

I agree with you as far as the hands on agents are concerned. They play the hand they are dealt by their leadership. The many failures that day are failures of leadership. The decision to place "mystery agent" as the agent in charge, an agent known to be inexperienced and a poor performer may not be a conspiracy but still represents a diminished concern for Trumps safety. That present leadership failed to suspend this person is another failure of leadership. That this person failed to design an adequate plan is a failure of leadership. The fact this person, with questionable judgement, is still out there protecting someone means that someone is getting inadequate protection. An outcome present leadership is defending. We were even told that any disciplinary action was taken, it would be confidential and the severity or even that it happened was none of our business.

Apart from all that, there is the failure of leadership that on the one hand claims they lack resources but on the other hand allocates 70% of their sizable staff to the more glamorous activity of investigations rather than the harder job of protection is a failure of leadership. The lack of the making full use of technology to support the mission is a failure of leadership. Arrogantly turning down the offer of a drone from the locals was a decision made by leadership, not the agents on the roofs, working the crowds, or surrounding the president.

But wait, at least leadership has efficiently and bravely identified the root cause, inadequacies of the procedure manual. I sure feel better and I am sure the protectees do too.

PS - It would make a good movie and if you see to it that it is made, i will definitely watch the movie. But only after to comes to cable, I won't pay $16 to watch it in some noisy theater.
